Michael Ashley began his career as a newspaper reporter and playwright before moving to Hollywood, where he worked for the head of the literary department at Creative Artists Agency (CAA). He later wrote for Disney, selling the treatment for the hit Halloween movie Girl vs. Monster that launched a successful toy and clothing line. He created The AI Philosopher Substack, and has written more than 50 books, including seven on AI.
Own the AI Revolution (McGraw Hill) launched at the United Nations’ AI for Good Summit and was named a top business book by Soundview. Neuromined: Triumphing Over Tyranny (Fast Company) won Best Technology Book of the Year by the Indie Awards and sold nationwide in 60 Hudson News airport bookstores. In addition to writing for Entrepreneur and Beckers Hospital Review, Michael has been a Forbes contributor covering AI since 2018 and recently spoke on the future of creativity in the AI Age for SXSW.
A former screenwriting professor at Chapman University, Michael’s work has appeared in Fox Sports, Entertainment Weekly, the United Nations’ ITU News, Yahoo Finance, Benzinga, Minnesota Star Tribune, The Boston Herald, The Washington City Paper, the International Business Times, and the Austin Daily Herald. He is also an in-demand speaker for Vistage and YPO, and he has presented for organizations including the American Bar Association and the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce.
Beyond writing speeches for himself and others, he coaches aspiring thought leaders to deliver stronger talks using his proprietary case-study storytelling framework: CBO (Create the Hook, Bring the Pain, Offer the Reversal.) As an AI expert, Michael helps companies make the leap to AI by providing hands-on integration and consulting.
